Ruth Fender Ruth Fender, 93, of 1415 Standish Steel Road; Bedford, passed away at 9:45 P.M. Friday, May 9, 2008 at her residence.
Born on January 10, 1915 in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Ellis Fender and Ophie (Mitchell) Fender. She was a hairdresser retiring in 1979 after working over 50 years. She was a member of the National Hairdresser Association.
Surviving is a sister: Kathleen Pirtle of Bedford, IN and her daughter, Henrietta Pirtle; several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Clovis, Ray, Eugene and John Fender.
The family would like to give special thanks to Ruth’s caregivers: Carol Mikels, Shirley Foddrill and Kim Manners.
Funeral Information
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 12th at the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Monday, May 12th from 11:00 A.M. until 1:45 P.M.
